GRANT GUIDELINES

Parkland Cares makes contributions to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that provide resources in line with our mission, values and geography.

No grants are made to individuals, political parties or candidates, religious organizations, organizations that foster or encourage racial, religious or other prejudices, or to any organization that does not qualify as a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.

GIVING PRIORITIES

The philanthropic focus of Parkland Cares is creating long-term, strategic relationships with nonprofit organizations that align with our funding priorities. We make grants to organizations that provide:

Trauma counseling, short and long term therapy and support to individuals, groups and families
Crisis counseling/intervention
Mental health assessment
Mental health treatment regardless of race, religion or sexual orientation
Services in approved geographic areas

APPLY FOR GRANTS

Next grant round is 12/18/23-1/31/24
Grant applications must be submitted by an individual authorized by the Board of Directors to enter in agreements on behalf of the organization
Funding decisions are made only for one year; there are no automatic renewals in future years
Parkland Cares reserves the right to request additional information or to conduct site visits as needed

Send a two-page letter of inquiry to include:

Mission of the organization and the population(s) you serve.
Description of the project you are seeking to fund.
Amount of funding requested.
Purpose of the funding and how the funds would be used.
Total cost of the program/project including your proposed budget.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

A grant narrative, of no more than two pages
A copy of your organization’s IRS federal determination letter
A copy of your current state of Florida charitable solicitation registration
A copy of your organization’s most recent IRS Form 990
Current year annual budget
A copy of your organization’s most recent audited financial statements (if available)
A copy of your organization’s most recent annual report (if available)
A dated letter/statement signed by the appropriate officer of the organization indicating there is currently no adverse action being taken against the organization that would jeopardize the organization’s 501(c)(3) status

GRANT FINAL REPORT

Within twelve months of the final receipt of funds, the organization must submit a final report to describe the results of the grant project.
